Physical Chemistry, read not solved
It behaves like Physics. Read without solving, and the conditions attached to each relation never become real.

THREE BRANCHES, THREE METHODS

Physical Chemistry behaves like Physics, Organic like a logic system, and Inorganic like structured recall. Students who plateau are almost always applying one method to all three.
Physical Chemistry
Mole concept, thermodynamics, equilibrium, electrochemistry and kinetics. Numerical, condition-heavy, and improved by practice rather than reading.
Organic Chemistry
General organic chemistry, mechanisms and named reactions. Follows electron movement — memorising products without mechanisms stops working by Advanced level.
Inorganic Chemistry
Periodic properties, chemical bonding, coordination compounds and the p-block. Recall-heavy, which makes spaced revision the deciding factor.
HOW TO PREPARE
Match the method to the branch.
There is no single way to prepare Chemistry, and the attempt to find one is what keeps scores flat. Each branch fails differently, so each needs a different response when it does.

Reading it produces false confidence. The conditions attached to each relation only become real when you apply them.

Learn mechanisms rather than products. One mechanism covers a family of reactions; a memorised product covers exactly one.

It is the branch most vulnerable to forgetting, and short spaced returns cost far less than restudying a chapter twice.

Chemistry questions
Which branch of Chemistry should I prioritise?
It depends on where your marks are leaking, but Inorganic usually offers the fastest recovery because its failure mode is forgetting rather than not understanding, and forgetting is cheap to fix with scheduled revision.
Is NCERT enough for JEE Chemistry?
For Inorganic Chemistry it is close to essential and often sufficient, since JEE Main questions track it closely. Physical and Organic need substantially more problem-solving than NCERT provides, particularly for Advanced.
How do I stop forgetting Inorganic Chemistry?
Accept that you will, and schedule around it. Short spaced returns — days, then weeks, then months — cost a fraction of restudying a chapter from scratch in March, which is the usual alternative.
Should I memorise Organic Chemistry reactions?
Memorise mechanisms, not products. A mechanism generalises to a family of reactions, which is exactly what JEE Advanced tests when it gives you a substrate you have never seen.
Why do I lose marks in Physical Chemistry despite understanding it?
Almost always conditions. Ideal behaviour, standard state, constant temperature — the relations are straightforward, and the questions are built specifically around the case where the assumption behind them fails.
